About Recipes by Liliana
Recipes by Liliana is a recipe site built around one idea: cooking for your family should feel rewarding, not stressful. Every recipe here is tested in a real home kitchen and written for the way real life actually works.
Since 2024How Recipes by Liliana Started
Liliana Moreau had been searching online for a reliable birthday cake recipe for her daughter's thirteenth birthday. She found dozens of options that looked stunning in the photos - towering layers, perfect frosting swirls, gorgeous crumb. She followed the instructions carefully. The result was a cake that collapsed on one side, had frosting that slid straight off, and tasted nothing like the description promised.
She made a second cake that night using a much simpler approach - one she could actually control - and it was the best cake she had ever baked. Her daughter loved it. The family asked her to make it again for every birthday after that.
That experience sparked a question Liliana kept coming back to: why is so much recipe content online built for how cooking looks rather than how it works? Beautiful photography, aspirational kitchens, and instructions that assume skills and equipment most home cooks simply do not have. She started Recipes by Liliana to be the answer to that question - a site where every recipe is tested until it actually works, written until it actually makes sense, and published only when a real family would genuinely want to eat the result.
Today Recipes by Liliana covers everything from quick weeknight dinners and chicken recipes to birthday cakes, desserts, breakfast ideas, and homemade pizza. The mission has never changed: real recipes, real kitchens, real families.

Founder & Head Recipe DeveloperA recipe that only works in a perfect kitchen is not a family recipe. Everything we publish has to survive a real Tuesday night.
Why Recipes by Liliana Exists
We started this site to close that gap. Our mission is to make home cooking feel genuinely achievable - for parents cooking weeknight dinners, for beginners tackling their first birthday cake, for anyone who has ever given up on a recipe halfway through because it stopped making sense.
We believe that cooking at home and eating together is one of the most valuable habits a family can build. We take it seriously when something gets in the way of that - a confusing instruction, an obscure ingredient, a photo that looks nothing like what comes out of the oven. Every decision we make at Recipes by Liliana is aimed at removing those barriers.
Every recipe is tested in a real home kitchen, written for cooks of all skill levels, and reviewed for accuracy before it is published. We do not publish recipes we would not make ourselves.
Tested in Real Kitchens
Every recipe is cooked at least twice in a standard home kitchen before publishing. We test on regular equipment with supermarket ingredients and time everything ourselves so the estimates we give are honest.
Written for Real People
We write instructions the way a knowledgeable friend would explain something - clearly, practically, without assuming you already know. Every technique is explained, every timing cue is specific, and substitution notes are included wherever they are useful.
No Fluff, Just Food
Recipe pages are built around the recipe. We include the context and tips you actually need and skip the unnecessary preamble. Your time matters and we respect that.
How We Develop Recipes
Once the concept is defined, we develop and test the recipe in rounds, adjusting quantities, timing, and technique with each cook. We document what worked, what did not, and whether the result was something we would genuinely be happy to serve. Recipes that do not meet that bar do not get published regardless of how good they look on paper.
Every published recipe also goes through a writing review to confirm that the instructions are clear to a first-time reader. We ask ourselves whether a nervous beginner could follow every step without confusion. If the answer is no, we rewrite.
